According to respected rental vehicle publication Auto Rental News (ARN), the New Zealand rental vehicle fleet hit 53,040 vehicles in 2018.
51% of the fleet is registered to the major brands: Avis (including Apex), Hertz (including Ace Rental Cars), Budget, Thrifty, Europcar and Enterprise.
The remaining 49% of the fleet are manged by the mid-tier and independent operators, of which in the New Zealand market there is a large number.
